by Anchor Brewing Company (brewery website)
Origin: USA – Type: IPA – Alcohol: 6,5%
The beer: Anchor IPA brewed by the renowned Anchor Brewing Company based in San Francisco is an emblematic beer synonym of the Craft Beer Revolution in the US. Anchor IPA colour is a red amber with hops, citrus and lemon taste along with a very nicely hoppy after taste. Hops used are Apollo and Cascade, usually used in American ales. By the taste I would say whole-cone hops are used but not so sure. Head of the beer result in a nice and compact foam. Finally, malts that are present give a slight and nice caramel taste all during the tasting.
The little extra: Very unique in its category: quite hoppy but still slightly sweet!
Where we bought it: At the shop “A la Bière comme à la Bière” in Paris, France. A very good beer shop with beers coming from all around the world. JB the owner will always be there to advise you how to savour peacefully, in the good order, all the beers that you will be tempted to taste! A must visit if you never have been there before!
